Alberto Feijóo is a collector, accumulator, apprentice and visual artist interested in the field of photography and its relationships with other disciplines such as collage, installation or design. Graduated in Communication from the University of Alicante in 2009. His work has been exhibited individually at the IVAM 'Trascity', in the Kursala Room of the University of Cádiz, at the Centro 14 in Alicante and in the Luis Adelantado and Punto galleries. in Valencia. He has also participated in group exhibitions at the Centro Conde Duque Madrid, LABoral Centro de Arte de Gijón, Centro Cívico Can Felipa in Barcelona, Hospedería Fonseca Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad de Puerto Rico, Sala Canal de Isabel II in Madrid, Sala de Arte Joven Comunidad of Madrid, ARCO 17, Fotomuseum Winterthur or The Photographers' Gallery in London. As a teacher he has carried out workshops and educational activities at the European Institute of Design IED Madrid, CCCC in Valencia, Tate Modern in London, among others. His work has been recognized in competitions such as XXIX Circuits of Plastic Arts, Emergent Lleida, PhotoEspaña, The New Talents TPG London or Platform at Fotomuseum Winterthur in Switzerland.

For a few years now he has been developing the Unchained project together with Guillermo Ros, which has been exhibited at the Fran Reus Gallery in Mallorca (2019) and at A10 València (2020). Since 2018 he lives and works between London and Alicante, where he has completed the Contemporary Photography postgraduate degree; Practices and Philosophies at the University of Arts London. Alberto Feijóo brings together photography, collage, graphic design and installation within his artistic practice, adopting different roles such as collector, apprentice or accumulator. His assemblies are the result of collecting materials of different natures. Within his photographic practice we can observe a heterogeneous mix of genres: still lifes, portraits, found objects, screenshots or appropriate images. Intrigued by “the biography of objects,” Feijóo questions the hierarchy of a system supported by a precarious structure. Structure that on many occasions transfers to the installation level by building displays and offering the viewer a space to explore and interpret freely. The worlds that Feijóo inhabits are full of references to popular culture (especially music) that merge with personal experiences. His work is a kaleidoscope that shows a reality in continuous mutation, where intuition and emotions act as raw material, offering an innovative approach and where he delves into the creation of three-dimensional images. “The image is the basis that supports all my work, the raw material. A self-image but also an appropriate image. Through traditional and digital tools I explore its mutant capacity, starting from the image as an element to be molded; an image that, on the other hand, we can inhabit, consume and that, sometimes, becomes independent of the wall and lives other lives. My photographs and collages are a consequence of the accumulation that emerged in the studio and the physical contact between elements of different origins; I often think of my work as a puzzle made up of a series of pieces whose shapes are indefinite, slippery and that collide with other objects. My practice develops in the form of horizontal systems, rhizomes that expand without a fixed structure and without hierarchies. More or less accidentally we find that one image is inside another.”
